The #PolariPrize is an LGBTQ+ prize and it is completely understandable why they would decline an author considered by some to be transphobic. The #JamesJoyceAward is nothing to do with TransRights and changing its mind about #JohnBoyne is ironic considering #JKRowling has one!

I'm new here (& a writer).
I wonder: is it even possible, anywhere, to have a civil conversation about J. Boyne and the #JamesJoyceAward being rescinded?
Boyne referred to himself as a “fellow #Terf” in ref. to JK Rowling (Terf = trans-exclusionary radical feminist).
I seek #respectful dialogue.
