A watercolor painting, in a thick wood frame, hangs on a neutral museum wall. The painting is Bonfire by Andrew Wyeth (1992). The painting depicts a bonfire in an empty wooded clearing. The bonfire is brightly burning in the foreground as smoke and flame flickers flow out from the fire into the night air. Above the fire is a tree branch, illumated by the firelight. In the background are several pumpkins lined up around the fire. The silhouette of a large evergreen tree can barely be seen behind the pumpkins. I love this picture, it has a calm, eerie late-fall feeling that really vibes with me. The Wyeth family is very fond of Halloween - something else that really vibes with me.
A watercolor painting, in a thick wood frame, hangs on a neutral museum wall. The painting is After Halloween by Jaimie Wyeth (1983). The painting shows several jack-o-lantern pumpkins stuffed into an old rusting cauldron. The cauldron sits atop a large flat stone and in the background is a late-autumn field and a single bare tree. Similar to Andrew Wyeth's "Bonfire" painting, this one has a calm, eerie late-fall feeling that I absolutely love.
A few more to round out the show - if I had to pick two of my favorites from the show, these would be them!

A watercolor painting, in a thick wood frame, hangs on a neutral museum wall. The painting is Tending the Net by Andrew Wyeth (1936). The painting depicts two fishermen in a small fishing boat on the sea. One man is standing, facing away from the viewer and looking out into the distance, the other is seated with an oar but his face is obscured. To the left of the boat, we see the floating bobs of a fishing net. In the background is a hazy image of another fishing boat.
A watercolor painting, in a thick wood frame, hangs on a neutral museum wall. The painting is Wind Northwest by Andrew Wyeth (1979). The painting is of a winter scene through a wood framed window. Through the window, we see a snowy field and the roof of a house with a weather vane that is pointing northwest. The view through the window is obscured by large icicles.
A watercolor painting, in a thick wood frame, hangs on a neutral museum wall. The painting is Late Fall by Andrew Wyeth (1981). The painting depicts an apple tree from N.C. Wyeth's home orchard. In the painting we see an apple tree with green-brown leaves and bare branches. At lower middle of the painting is a single red-gold apple. Below the tree a few fallen leaves and apples are visible. N.C. Wyeth, the talented illustrator, was Andrew Wyeth's father.
