Suitcase for the 2022 is on the eft and the Suitcase for 2024 is on the right. Next time, I will take both.

My advice for trains is don't take anything larger than carry on. Though I wished that I had taken the bigger one for souvenirs and extra clothes and used Yamato to deliver it to hotels. #Japanuary25d11

#Japanuary25D11 Planning Tips

Always double check if you need to book tickets in advance for any museums or attractions. Some require booking days in advance, and I saw some people really sad they couldn't get into the Chichu Art museum in Naoshima because they didn't book ahead!

Travel tip for #japan. Go off the beaten path and the Golden Route and you'll see some real gems. This was #kurashiki, as seen from #aichishrine. Beautiful town and I would go back in a heartbeat.

That pic is circa 2004, when I used to go to rural elementary schools sometimes as a guest English teacher. My only qualification: I'm a native English speaker. Also, our neighbor was the school's principal, & my in-laws are retired teachers.

#Japanuary, Day 11: Planning Tips

FYI, the Japanese school year ends around mid-March and starts in early April. So, I would AVOID going to #Japan then. Everything will be extra crowded, especially theme parks.

Why am I at a school...

#Japanuary25d11 Planning Tips
I booked must see things in advance like Disney Sea for a specific day, but I left the other days open. I had researched what I wanted to see and where they were located. I could then choose what I wanted to see depending on crowds, weather and how I was feeling.

Day 11: Planning tips

Similar to what Amy said for hers, but don't overland! There's so much you'll want to do, but try to stick to one or two big things a day so you don't run yourself ragged and you have time to aimlessly wander.

Japan planning tip - Book at least one food tour! Tour guides introduce you to some fantastic places - Magical Tours and Ninja Food Tours were really great. You can get a better sense of your surroundings and feel more brave to try different food! #Japanuary25d11 #Japanuary25 #Japanuary

Planning tips
I use Google maps to help navigate train stations in Japan. It tells you the line, the platform, the time and I've always found it to be very accurate. Probably better apps out there that do more but it's always helped me out a lot.

#Japanuary25D11 Planning Tips.
Some people like to plan more than others. I love researching all the things there are to do, but instead of planning every day's itinerary, I have a list of "must-do" things for each location, then extras that may or may not fit in, depending how much time we have.
