#Japan is such a mix of futuristic & historic architecture. Many will visit the 3D calico cat in Shinjuku. Few will see this temple in Gifu, which is 200+ years old. Both are beautiful in their own ways, though I prefer the second.

Architecture Old v New
On the left is the famous old Harajuku station, a pic I took in 2019. Sadly in 2020 they replaced it with the new one on the right.
However the good news is they dismantled it and are going to rebuild it in a new complex opening in 2026.

I didn't really get any examples of the contrast together, but I think Asakusa is a great example of the stark differences. Senso-ji vs Skytree Town.

Run down traditional house in Kanazawa,
Architecture old vs. New: I shot this house in Kanazawa on the way back to the hotel from the remains of Kanazawa castle. I love the modern Skyscraper in the background. Sadly, it is slated for demolition.
