A grey clayey looking soil with tufts of blond grass. Two hiking bit tires are visible at the top of the frame for scale. There is a scattering of roasted white bread colored seeds on the soil surface showing a seeding rate of about 160seeds foot square foot.

The small town of Jarbidge, NV is nestled in a river valley. The hill slopes are cured out grass blonde. There is smoke in the air from a distant fire(s) in Oregan or Idaho that had reduced the visibility greatly. The foreground is a mix of smashed churned grass and intact grass and brush. This is where a doze fire line was built in early July and has had the pushed material pulled back in to rehabilitate the site. This seeding mission is the second to last step, once the seeds sprout a preemergant herbicide will be applied to try to prevent annual grass taking over the site.

The dozer line in the foreground has had the vegetation pulled back in. As the viewer follows the ridge out the impacts of the fire are still visible. It was a patchy burn which is good, it means there's intact seed source and root crowns for revegetating the fire area naturally.
