Where the Wild Things Are Now I used to believe I was wild. There was always this burning desire in me to be unrestrained, untamed… reckless. I romanticized it. The freedom. The chaos. The version of myself that didn’t care about consequences or expectations or who might get hurt in the process. But the truth is—I didn’t actually enjoy being reckless. I couldn’t handle the fallout. I couldn’t sit with the consequences of my actions, or the pain I caused the people I loved.

What if the life you think you want… is just an escape?

I used to crave being wild. Now I’m learning I actually crave safety—and the courage to sit with what comes with it.
