Christian nationalism is a counterfeit kingdom: religion fused to power, demanding loyalty, excusing cruelty, silencing conscience. Tim Whitaker pleads with conservative Christians as “his people,” urging them to take Jesus seriously, reject false witness, and stop siding with power over the vulnerable. He points to children harmed and neighbors brutalized and asks: is this Christlike? This isn’t about party labels; it’s about discipleship—truth, mercy, and love of neighbor. Daniel warned, “By peace shall he destroy many” (Dan 8:25). Jesus warned the destroyer comes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). The trial exposes whether we follow Jesus or a rival king. “My kingdom is not of this world” (John 18:36). Repent and return to Christ.
