While it seems unlikely that Tondi kõrts was related to #Katleri Mõis, the westernmost property (which also is said to have run a peat-extraction business, hence the -raba ending), #Väo Mõis is understood to have been leased to a #JobstDunte in the 17th C. But which one? As above, see #Tondi.

Jobst Dunte 3 (d. 1624(?) or 1637), merchant, received #Keila Mõis outside #Tallinn as fief from King Gustaf II Adolf in 1630, sons knighted and ennobled in #Sweden. Recruited craftsmen from #Germany for church ornamentation. At times confused with this father.

Disappointingly, not from #tont, ghost or specter, as local lore would have it, but after the summer estate (see #Mõisa) of #JobstDunte, which all seems nice and simple, but it’s not. Which Jobst (or Jost) Dunte (or Dunt or Dunten)?

Unofficial name of #Tondimõisa. Park on SW end of Tondi presumably attempting to rectify the terrors of Tallinn orthography upon its misbegotten owner. As to which #JobstDunte, see #Tondi.

Today is about ghosts
Indeed it is, but the story is a bit complicated! Between ±1530-1710 there were 5 family members called #JobstDunte. It seems that JD3 (died 1637) owned #Keila Mõis, JD5? may have owned #Tondi kõrts, #Katleri aka Tondi Mõis and #Väo aka Tondi Mõis. There may have been a JD6. More info coming soon.
