Some years ago, my museum's collection of #JosephWright paintings was under threat by poor roof maintenance, leading to water entering the public gallery during heavy rain.
Leaders all seem to want amazing public spaces, but rarely support essential behind-the-scenes storage solutions.

5th walks day. With weather forecast predicting apocalypse, stayed in #Derby morning, then train #Matlock & mostly easy but interesting walk back esp up #CromfordCanal to Belper (good pubs!) . Place of day: #DerbyMuseumArtGallery derbymuseums.org, #JosephWright esp good!
