Charlie has experienced a lot of advantage-taking in her past, as well, and is very defensive about it now.

He's such a sweetheart, but doesn't recognize when people are using him. He wants to make everyone happy and there are certain groups who take advantage of that (coughQueenHestiacough)

PTW is my favourite example of balance in my writing. Because of the dual POV the reader gets to see the detective and the main suspects perspectives so they can draw their own conclusions regarding who did it.

Having been raised by an overbearing mother and in Quinn's shadow, he struggles to come out as his own person. Often this leads him to hesitate at key points.

one of the names he calls Taran in Masters becomes a running joke/theme, so much so that I name a later section of the book after it!
