Funniest? I would honestly say its some of the banter between Amanda/Ahn-Me/Melody because of the natural back and forth it feels between these three. Especially in Sharp Teeth, Thick Skin. We had fun writing the "Aftershocks scene"

Growing up one of my favorite books was Peter Pan, which I got shortly before the movie Hook came out. Hats off to the person who wrote the novel of the film because there are some FANTASTIC callbacks to the original text in there

DoD has an ensemble cast, and I have a lot of fun with the variety of characters. We got neurodivergent weirdos, grumpy violent bastards, serious scientists, cheerful jokers, whimsical dreamers and that's just the mortals!

From Book 2, Chapter 7: A Study in Architecture -
"It was a blessing and a curse, to feel the Ten Towers breathe"
From TFNDB V2: The Art of Weathering - "She heard rather than felt the safety wards kick in."

There's several actually. Innani's cat Madsen, Zaya's pet Pom-Sidhe (Pommeranian Cu-Sith) named Ohgr, Denise's aging pet Tressym, and finally Nat and Vola's pet Pig, Waffles, who for some reason has powers he shouldn't.

It depends on the project. Last night I got excited about a new (old) antagonist I wanted to bring into the series for the next book. Then when Stace did more edits for Art of Weathering I found myself loving TIff and Zaya more. So it can vary.

Monthly wrap up: not much progress on WIP (work/heatwave) but I really enjoyed this challenge. It pushed me out of my comfort zone, made me think and helped sell a few books! Thanks to everyone who bought one and @chesneyinfalt.bsky.social @lvrussell.bsky.social for hosting.
#FantasyIndiesJune Day 30: Monthly Wrap-Up
I didn’t reach my goal of 15K on 🦋, but I did write quite a bit (and love it).
I also did a lot of editing for 🫀.
Completely stalled on 🌇, though, and did little for 🧤.
#FantasyIndiesJune 30: monthly wrap-up
I feel like I blinked and now it's the end of June 😆 it's been too hot to be at my computer for the last week and a half-ish, so not much progress on QoSaS or book 4. See y'all in July!

This month I have 3 short stories out in the world seeking homes in publications. And I’ve started writing another!
My WIP, Brother’s Keeper, isn’t coming along as smoothly as I hoped. Developmental editing hell has opened Pandora’s Box. Plugging away!

June turned out really well: I had a haiku published in 5-7-5 Haiku Journal, secured covers for the three novelette reprints I’m self-publishing, and made some solid progress on the rewrite of “Dusk and Dawn at Laufenden”

30. Wrap up
I had some bad mental health issues this month - overwhelming feelings of inadequacy and uselessness. It was a bad month, but I'm going into July with a smile.
I'm seeing a therapist, I've cut away that which hurt me and my writing is back on track.
To health! 🍺

My wrap-up part 2. I knew I was forgetting something. I also submitted my interview with John Skipp. That's two interviews this month. I like doing these interviews. They're fun!

Monthly Wrap Up - Well... it's been a month. I wrote a little for this particular WIP and formatted a LOT for one that's about ready for publishing. Of course, I discovered after the fact, that I'll have to fix every single image in my book since Word isn't playing nice. lol🤷♀️
A graphic showing a blue and green nebula with stars. In the top left and bottom right corners are crystal sun motifs. The top right corner reads "Emergence", while the bottom left corner says "akairondragon.ca". The text in the middle reads "MONTHLY WRAP-UP My biggest achievement in June was finishing Emergence! I wrote seven chapters to get it done. The draft is just under 72,000 words. Blows my mind a little to think I got another book finished."

I've loved sharing bits of #solwd with all of you, and I hope I've piqued your interest! It's a fantastical version of our world with a lot of reasons to fear, but family and friends can be the best cure for any suffering. Along with cute little sapphics falling in love.
