Finally nibbling a snack herself, Himari was desperately trying to order her thoughts. Her reaction to Kyoka's appearance had startled and disoriented her. She swallowed with some water, and glanced to Seina. "S-Seina, did... you... mm... notice anything about Kyoka... just now?" Seina blinked in open bewilderment this time. Did... Himari not realize what her own reaction meant? Seina's eyes slowly widened, and her initial instinct to tease collapsed under a mild panic to avoid shattering Himari's world view before she was ready to do so herself. "U-uh... You mean like the fact she unironically listens to demon-pop and demon-rock bands?" Himari seemed to freeze up like a computer, her eyes blinking rapidly with incomprehension. "...What?" squeaked out. "Oh? You... didn't notice the posters plastered all over her room?" Seina couldn't help it now. Her tone was building to teasing, and her smile was starting to stretch. "W-well, where were you focusing...?" She twitched, realizing what had just come out of her mouth too late. Himari burst with several squeaking, uncontrolled vocalizations as she tried to 'casually' dismiss the issue. Her hand shot out, yanked her water back, and she gulped half of it down.

"Do you know what your magic actually does?" Once their eyes locked, Kyoka lifted a hand gently. "Sorry for surprising you." Seina eased slightly, but was clearly still suspicious of someone talking to her after being humiliated. "I-I just know it breaks what I hit better than my fist does alone." Kyoka was gently confused, and Seina started to hackle up, but also saw that the confusion was sincere, not mocking. "...You inherited this ability, yes?" Kyoka clarified her confusion first, seeing she still needed to ease Seina's emotions down. Seina turned a bit dark, but grim rather than furious. She was somewhat stocky in frame, and her muscles on her arms were well-defined. She naturally looked a bit intimidating to any normal person. "From my mom, yeah." Kyoka's confusion lingered. "...Has... she not... taught you about it?" Her tone was measured and gentle, because she only knew she was missing something important, and Seina was clearly sensitive to the topic. "She died when I was born," Seina hissed back, low and tense. "My dad has worked really hard for me. He's a champion boxer. I'm proud of what I can do, and I'm not going to be teased for it, okay?" Seina's mood slightly faltered when she saw the horrified shock on Kyoka's face. It immediately confirmed Kyoka was being sincere, and had no desire to tease her for not having a mother.

- 400 words a day was a game-changer for me. It felt approachable. By accepting it, giving myself credit for 400 even if it was hard, and letting flow happen, I have written four books, multiple fan fics, and a few novellas after a 6 year drought.
