Los Tules is simply the best Mexican restaurant in the city. There are lots of great ones, but this one nails it every time. Every time. The chicken enchiladas are fantastic—deliciously unforgettable.

Oh goodness—wow! Found a fantastic Cajun spot in KC at 34th & Main, just off the Streetcar—Swifts on Main. Cheesy shrimp & grits and fried basa with Cajun rice were delicious. Heat can be dialed up or down without losing flavor. High on the yum scale!

If you’re in the mood for an affordable local Tex-Mex, you definitely should try Tiki Taco. An a la carte menu and my fave item is the chicken chimi. We went to the Troost location, but there are 3 in the metro. A great patio for warmer weather too.
