So long, London! Headed back to DC soon. It’s been a great trip from Paris for #KLEBS2024, train to London and we visited Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and the Tower Bridge. Then rented a car and spent the last two days of our trip in the Cotswolds.

Neonatal sepsis is a complex problem and requires multi-prong approach. Agreed that infection control is important (and hearing some interesting discussion at #KLEBS2024 about kangaroo care as an option). But once a neonate is infected, we need to diagnose rapidly as they can decline rapidly.

Reposting our preprint presented at #KLEBS2024 where we sailed the seven seas of the #Klebsiella pneumoniae species complex 🏴☠️and charted an atlas of our travels. We present a population metabolism study of 7835 genomes + metabolic models, in vitro validation and co-cultures.

First step of a long journey home from #Klebs2024 #Klebsiella2024. It has been an incredibly productive few days personally, and more widely the conference has been a great success brining together scientists studying Kpn for the first time

Really enjoyed #KLEBS2024. A lot of the mechanistic and Klebsiella-host interaction work was mind-blowing, and left me with lots to think about.

I hope this conference becomes a regular event.
