Delta was chosen as the site after a long drawn out fight over the #Kaiparowits power plant. First proposed at an enormous 6 GW, Kaiparowits would've sat atop the largest undeveloped coal field in the southwest. Today that coal is in Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument.
