📍 #Kappabashi (or "Kitchen Town") in #Tokyo is Japan’s largest shopping street dedicated entirely to restaurant and kitchen supplies (about 170 stores). Located between the popular Ueno and Asakusa districts, this 800-meter street is paradise for professional chefs and home cooking enthusiasts!!

A vibrant street scene in Tokyo with the Tokyo Skytree partially shrouded in mist. The street is lined with buildings featuring colorful murals and signs. Pedestrians in winter clothing walk on the sidewalk alongside bicycles.
The iconic #TokyoSkytree standing tall in the misty (pre-snow) backdrop of the #Kappabashi district. Known for its abundance of handcrafted #Japanese kitchen knives and a wide array of kitchen tools in #Tokyo. #Japan #TravelJapan #StreetPhotography #CityLife

A restaurant supply store in the Kappabashi district of Tokyo. It is cluttered with all kinds of items needed to run a restaurant.
A statue of a Kappa stands outside a store in the Kappabashi district of Tokyo. Kappa are traditional Japanese Yokai (spirits) who inhabit rivers and streams. Kappabashi translates as "Kappa Bridge" and refers to the ancient belief that Kappa lived under the bridge in the area. Kappa look sort of like turtle people with a bald head. On their head is a small cup of water. This one is holding a chef's knife and wearing a chef's apron.
Walking around the Kappabashi district of Tokyo. (Known for restaurant supply stores.) I love my Mamiya Six because it is so portable.

The photo is inside the cafe where you can see out the front window an electric bike against greenery along the sidewalk. In the foreground is a wooden table with the yellow paperback book with a wet grey growling cat illustration. To the right is a round tea-like ceramic cup of black coffee.
