Panel 1: An establishing shot of a downtown Chicago street where food trucks line the side of the road with office workers queued up outside of them. Denver holds his (fully in tact) skateboard under his uninjured arm as he dashes towards a green food truck with someone who looks like it might be Stef handing food out the window. Denver is cursing to himself: "Fuck, fuck, fuck -- of course they’re fucking slammed -- FUCK!" Panel 2: Denver holds his skateboard over his head, trucks up, so as to not hit anybody with it as he squeezes through the office workers in line. He apologies with a, "Hey, hi, excuse me, sorry, just trying to get through--" Panel 3: Turns out, it is Stef in the food truck! Stef begins to speak to the next customer in line, "Thanks for waiting, what can I..." He trails off because he's noticed Denver's skateboard bobbing past. Panel 4: Stef leans out the food truck window and yells, "Denver?! What the hell, man! Where have you been?!" Panel 5: Denver leans out from around the back of the food truck, replying, "I’m sorry! The free clinic wait--" Panel 6: Denver's hand on the skateboard holds up a single pointer finger in a motion to ask Stef to wait, "--hang on, I'm coming around--" Panel 7: "Denver is now at the back of the food truck's open door, and finishes, "--the wait was a lot longer than I thought it’d be, and--"

Someone (you know who 🙏) commented that this is their favorite Then transition of #KeepingTime so far, and same. It's one of the very first beats I had scripted back in '22-23.

Someone tagged this update on tumblr with this and it makes me so happy. Sometimes people ask me which of the #KeepingTime boys I'm most like, and it's Stef. Stef and I are ace in different ways, and Stef's ace-aro rumblings won't come up until later, but it makes me so happy he resonates.

Hi Kody -- It's (REDACTED)--AT sent your note to me. As long as you credit me (us) for the song (which it sounds like you are), you're free to use the lyrics and reference and anything else. No need to pay me, just so long as: A. You send me a link to the comic when it's done and B. You come to one of my shows in Seattle this year and introduce yourself (since I live in Seattle and play pretty regularly around).
I've reached out to two 80's hardcore punk bands for lyrics licensing requests through their labels, telling them about #KeepingTime and my budget. Both times, the guys came back with, "nah go ahead, use it for free."
Punk's not dead. In fact, they're still out there, being radically kind.
