I took a small #bookbinding set up with me to keep me occupied as I interacted with visitors - notebooks make good Christmas presents whatever year it is!

On day 4 of #kentwellhall 1536, I re-bound two #facsimile cookery books for a friend. A 'last minute' commission. The soft cover leather books are a nice job for in between tasks of bigger projects.
These are later dates, but easily hidden from view.

On day 1 of #kentwellhall 1536, I finished #binding a Latin songbook. The leather is the most supple brown goatskin which I enjoyed working with. The patch is covering a number brand I didn't see until after I cut the leather.

Saturday I baked fish in salt dough, with a herb butter betwixt the fillets, and was delicious.

On this day in 1942, the Regiment was stationed at Kentwell Hall, Long Melford and the surrounding areas, where they conducted gas mask training in their billets before heading out to the gunnery ranges at Foulness.
