The photo shows three of the more than 500 Mexican Kickapoos, who live in the State of Coahuila, Mexico.
#History
The #Mexican Kickapoo people hail originally from Michigan but migrated to the State of #Coahuila (North #Mexico) in 1850. They speak the only #Algonquian #language in Mexico and are related to the #Kickapoo tribes in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas.

Screen capture of dinner scene from the Original Texas Chainsaw Massacre where everyone is looking at the camera, and text above says ‘Thanksgiving is just around the corner’.
Somber art of a First Nations woman with her arms folded, eyes closed, and lips slightly parted on a swirling turquoise background. There is a yellow sun directly behind her, and a crescent moon off to the right in a deeper gold. There are white handprints circling her from her waist up, like a protective halo. She is wearing black skirt and coral colored top with a patterned shawl that’s brown, red, and black. Her hair is long and worn down, and on the bottom right of the photo, are the words ‘National Day of Mourning’
Photo of a pumpkin pie with perfectly portioned pieces cut through, each identical in size. But a random piece has been removed out of the center of the pie, without any crust, that cuts across four of the perfectly cut pieces. The caption above states: “Them: Don’t talk about gerrymandering during thanksgiving. Me: [photo goes here]”
Two images split in half with text. First image: Wednesday Addams from the Addams Family Values movie, wearing a stereotypical ‘Indian’ beaded headdress and smirking mischievously. She is holding a match while a fire burns behind her. Text reads, “This Thursday” Second image: Image of both an American and Israeli flag burning as part of a protest surrounded by a crowd. Text reads, “Be like Wednesday.”
Paying Homage to our #FirstNations this Day of Mourning, from #Kickapoo & #Potawatomi land. I’ll be making some donations today.🖤 I hope you will, too. Even if it’s only $5, it helps.
I hope everyone enjoys their time with friends, chosen family, & loved ones today. #reparations #stolenland
