Simon Kinberg Claims His ‘Star Wars’ Trilogy Takes Inspiration From ‘Andor’ Simon Kinberg of _Star Wars Rebels_ fame has noted that _Andor_ is one of the influences on the live-action trilogy that he is developing. **Nerdtropolis** recently spoke with the producer and writer Simon Kinberg, who — like a lot of us — was absolutely thrilled with how good both seasons of _Andor_ went. He stated that, along with his continued working relationships with Dave Filoni and Kathleen Kennedy, seeing what Tony Gilroy came up with reaffirmed his commitment to this franchise: > “There’s a ton of wildly talented folks that want to do great work. I was super inspired and just sort of awestruck by what Tony Gilroy did with _Andor_. I thought that was about as good of science fiction storytelling as you can do in any franchise.” He also noted that he is consistently blown away that he gets the opportunity to work with a franchise that’s so dear to himself and a lot of other people around the world: > “It’s not even a dream come true — I couldn’t have dreamed it; just to be told there’d be more movies would have been unbelievable. To be allowed on the set of any of them was already a dream. My enthusiasm only grows with working on and around it.” Simon Kinberg has a particularly interesting career in Hollywood full of ups and downs.
