Nothing gets me psyched up and excited like talking about the future of ethics and #KindDesign in our industry.
Ethics in web design is an integral consideration of #KindDesign. If you create things meant to deceive, meant to cause harm, or meant to suppress, then you're wielding great power without consideration for responsibility, and industry pros need to hold you accountable.
To steal a quote from @TheRock: It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice. #KindDesign is about leveraging how important it is to bake niceness into our intent when we design and build The Next Big Thing.
#KindDesign isn't about perfecting the outcome, it's about exercising the process and putting in effort you can be proud of. Output changes, but pride keeps you growing and improving. Do work you're proud of. More importantly, do work your grandma would be proud of.

#HostileDesign can be accessible. It can be inclusive. And yet, it's still awful. It's designed to trick. It goes beyond #usability into psychology. It's meant to manipulate and deceive. It is the dark side of the force. Exercise #KindDesign.
#KindDesign is #InclusiveDesign. It's #UniversalDesign, #AccessibleDesign, and more. It's all of these things, in philosophical form. More importantly though, Kind Design is a contract to not engage in #HostileDesign, aka #DarkPatterns.
The key to taking part in #KindDesign is building things that you are proud to show off, because it demonstrates the best of your design and development abilities towards supporting the broadest audience possible. When you perform Kind Design, you know it should be shown off.
