A boardwalk overlooks a vista of the peat lake. There are three ducks on the wooden railing, it's late afternoon (golden hour) and the sky and water are clear. A clump of harakeke can be seen in the midground, and more along the opposite shore. The boardwalk forms a corner, with railing on the right and ahead, and a long wooden bench on the left.

It's me, Erin. I am a fat, light skinned Pākehā trans woman in her 30s with black headphones and large dark sunglasses on. I'm smiling and have dimple piercings. My long brown hair is tied back and I am wearing a grey zip-up hoodie with black edging and a white Bleeders t-shirt which is barely visible. You can just see the top of the pounamu (greenstone) I wear around my neck. In the glass of the bus stop behind me you can see the reflection of the park entrance area and viewing tower, as well as a large cabbage tree (tī kōuka).

Illuminare: Light the Way Hamilton Civic Choir is excited to bring you the fourth and final concert in our 2024 season, ILLUMINARE: Light the Way.

They are covering the booking fees so tickets are cheaper than usual. It’s at the St Peter’s cathedral, which has gorgeous stained glass. It’s a spectacle.
