Hi there. I've decided that I'm taking a hiatus posting to #knitchat for the rest of February. I'm working on some ideas for posting as a running hashtag instead of a 1 hour event. And I'm looking for topics others are interested in posting about. 1/

So the chat thread with #Knitchat would start on Monday and end on Saturday and would focus on one topic like knitting cardigans or making the perfect button hole. 2/

#knitchat If I am in repeat for a while, I make a counter - beads for each row on a ribbon. I use knots to mark my place. I often knit on four needles so never got into row counters.

#KnitChat prompt 2 I always use acrylic/manmade because wool has always made me itch but to look good for textures the yarn has to be smooth - fuzz is out! When I knit complicated patterns I use paper and pencil to keep track but I aim for simple nowadays.

Knitting is my stressbuster so I knit strips for blankets using my favourite k2p2 stitch over 2 rows at a time alternating I call it double moss stitch but it may have a proper name It looks good and by now I don't have to think about it As a change I do a 4 row 4 stitch basket weave #knitchat

I like using a notebook to map out stitch patterns in my own charts even if i have the pattern written out. #TexturedKnitting #knitchat the notes here go to that fuschia sweater i made last Christmas.

That is so true about the variety you can get with simple knits and purls. #KnitChat

It's not too bad. The repeat is clear and its just knit & purl stitches. I love textured knitting because you can do so much with just 2 stitches :) #knitchat
