I remembered having the same injury trying to hit bare hand a punching ball too, following the instructions of the physical activities coach in a hospital I was a patient in, for a long journey.

I actually really thought the opposite, as many, that with gloves, it was less brutal, but yeah that makes sense it is not.
I thought about it when I saw Keen in the episode, just hurt his hand by hitting the arcade punching ball.
