The bulk of the valley is a rock field, with a few scatter conifer trees and grassy areas. On the right, a rock wall juts up vertically.

A very wet piece of shale with a few black ovals, which are fossilized trilobites.

A lot of rain and clouds did not prevent us from heading up to Stanley Glacier to check out some of the Burgess Shale today.
