"The Great Kyoto Fire Part 1" is the best #RurouniKenshin ep of the season. Kamatari's 'friendly fire' slicings set the tone for how serious the Juppongatana are. And Sanosuke, my boy, you the real MVP. Had Shishio shook! Aoshi catching Kenshin off guard at the end? Cinema!! #KyotoDisturbance

Cho vs. Kenshin is so malignant. 💚 Cho but he deserved it. The subsequent, moving flashback ep is fresh to me (did I miss it in the manga or is it based on a separate work?!); the dichotomy b/t the Battosai that Shakku knew & the freshly birthed rurouni is searing.
