You can visit the St. Francis Dam site - it's on San Francisquito Canyon Road, 1.7 miles north of the LADWP's
#LAAqueduct hydroelectric plant (which has a dam disaster memorial plaque) or 7.5 miles north of Copper Hill Drive in #SantaClarita.

97 years ago #OTD, on Mar 12, 1928, the St. Francis Dam, part of the LADWP's #LAAqueduct system, broke & flooded San Francisquito Canyon north of #SantaClarita. Nearly 500 died in the floodwaters, the 2nd largest disaster in CA in terms of casualties after the 1906 SF quake.

Nope, 100% Militant Angeleno-organized and funded.

About the #water reservoirs— they were full. They’re filled from the #LAAqueduct. #Firefighting depletes reservoirs. Should Newsom have built desalination plants on the CA coast? Mayb used eminent domain 2 seize prop? How should he &/or the LA mayor gotten more💧in advance?
