Since being let out of his 'suite' M. Lapin has been getting to know his world. From a slightly nervy start, he's getting more brave every day, spending more time out of his hidey holes, even when I am around! He even braved coming out for breakfast today!

We opened up Lapin's room last night. He and the babies enjoyed a night of playfighting, exploring and chaos!
He then did not come out for his breakfast as usual this morning. Worried, I went down as usual to do his dinner, having sequestered the babies in the bathroom 1/
A wooden staircase rises up from a tiled floor. The treads and risers are stained wood. The framework is painted in a rich theatre curtain red. The stair rail is in cast iron, with slender rods with curled knobbly bits half way up. The stair post is a thicker version of the rods, with a round knob at the top and a swirling extension of the handrail that cascades from the knob to where the rail is joined to the stairs.
A cast iron rail runs around 3 sides of the opening for a staircase in a boarded out attic. Round knobs are at the top of each of the slightly thicker posts at each corner.
A cast iron stair rail runs from the 1st floor landing to the kitchen below. A matching rail runs along the landing area of the living room.
At our request the iron was left with no added colour, just as matt a laquer as possible, so the silvery worked areas can be seen clearly at the corners and joins. It gives the iron a worn look that suits the house well
Apologies for lack of kitten and #LapinNews recently. Been very under the weather and feeling a bit sorry for myself. But, despute having to put it iff last week as too unwell, I have my gorgeous new stair rail in at last 😊
