Just in from discussing Maggie zO’farrells instructions for a heatwave. For #LBCWSwan.
Fantastic if somewhat garbled a chat!
Next time, we need a round table structure so it’s easier to hear!

Such a lovely #BookClub this evening for #LBCWSwan discussing tomorrow & tomorrow & tomorrow by Gabrielle zevin.
As a whole - we loved it - 8’s & higher from everyone.
Had a great chat for a full two hours tho still didn’t manage to cover everything!
There were also chocolates & home baked treats!
Will be focusing on #BookClub stuff today.
1. Finding a venue for the Christmas party
2. Getting the books read
3. Staring into the abyss… whoops wrong list

Finished #TomorrowAndTomorrowAndTomorrow for #LBCWSwan and it’s one of those books that has left me feeling bereft because it ended.
A wonderful book. Can’t wait to discuss it! 🦉📚
Started & enjoying #TheHeroes by Joe Abercrombie.
I’ve been listening to the audiobook for #LBCWSwan on Sunday.
Have managed about 10 hours and somehow still have 250* still to go!
*13 but still! It’s an epic but come on!
Interesting article and conversation linked here below.
Seems to me this is about collectibles - it’s not about books/literature/stories - so I’ve no interest, no matter how pretty. What do book clubbers think?

Lovely to see treats being shared at #LBCWSwan - one of the book clubs I ‘run’ (have missed the last few due to life).
Cakes and treats go all the way back to our first ever book club in Arcadia so it’s a delight to have that restarted*
*hoping it continues not *purely* out of wanting treats
It’s book club day! 🦉📖

You?
Top left box - book cover for Birnam woods. Black and white in a grey background, book cover has title, author and pine trees that look to be moving - dancing? In the wind. Lower left box - LBC logo - an owl reading a book on a patriot background. Right half - book cover for grass by sheri a tepper - a blue beetle on a blade of grass peers at an alien looking city - with a space ship lifting off in the foreground.

Excellent book club last night. Such a joy to chat books with awesome people (though the lack of chips nearly derailed the entire evening. We do like our chips). Also proper #SciFi.
Thanks to the #LBCHorsforth crew.
Next up, #LBCWSwan on Sunday.
