Screenshot of a post from the Society of Authors showing part of the staff team standing behind their stand as the second day at the London Book Fair wraps. They are all smiling. Copies of The Author magazine are on the stand with turquoise tote bags and there's a big pull up SoA banner on the right that says 'empowering all types of writers, illustrators, and literary translators since 1884'. Author Sam Blake is beside the banner, standing next to Ian Giles, chair of the Translators Association.

Another positive year at the London Book Fair. Nice to catch up with familiar faces, meet new folk and generally be surrounded by translators and like-minded people. Our industry isn't an easy one and while events like this can be exhausting, they can also be necessary for recharging. #LBF25

My good news is that the people of publishing came up trumps again at #LBF25, so many of them very kindly giving up their time – when they were no doubt already heaving with meetings – to talk with our students about what it’s *really* like working in the industry.

#LBF25 was great, thank you.
But so tired now and haven't even posted anything about it yet (will do soon) as it's been a whirlwind.

Three days of many meetings at #LBF25 is over and I am on the train home. I am thinking about how I’ve just been in a big hall of people that make books and sell books and deliver books, like me. It’s tiring and hard work but we are there every single year doing what we do best! 📚

Attended the London Book Fair for the very first time this week. Learned a ton about the publishing industry - how tough it is, but also how big - with no many different ways to reach your desired readership. #LBF25
