Sinclair is sweating bullets and is trembling while seeing his life flash before his eyes. Despite that, Meursault does not appear to react and his cheeks are slightly rosy, indicating a not-so secret fondness for this Soldato.

I like to think that despite the strict hierarchy system in the Thumb, Capo Meursault still makes exceptions when it comes to his favourite Soldato. But, will the Soldato ever get THE HINT...
