What a game! Lightning comes out the victor over Firebirds but what a battle it was. Nobody really knew who would come out on top but it was POTM Donnell Wallam who sank the decisive super shot. Courtney Bruce also starred for the winners.

Listening the commentary rave about Nepo baby having 21 feeds and 8 goals assists that means you aren't putting your goalies in a good shooting position majority of the time.

Perhaps a surprise here as Firebirds go into the 2nd half in front in a tight game. They had a strong first Q (17-13) before Lightning came back in the 2nd (17-15). Firebirds shooting at just 63% but Mary Cholhok has rebounded 11 misses!

A great first Q. Lightning on top. They threatened to run away with things, but Firebirds hung in there, helped by a super shot from Mary Cholhok. What a first Q from Ash Ervin... 4 gains, 3 intercepts, 1 rebound and 4 deflections.
It only took Sunshine Coast Lightning 3 rounds of their campaign to get Robert Irwin to come to a game!
The crowd went wild when he walked in to hand over the game ball. And every time he gets on screen π
