Daytime scene of a commuter rail conduit in a wet and wild City, facing down a pair of tracks, currently with no train, toward a street bridge in the horizon; these tracks go all the way through two boroughs of the City, in the direction that our scene is facing, and out to the suburbs; the concrete train conduit is sunken fifteen to twenty feet below the street level and has plenty of old and interesting graffiti from some famous writers from the East; at the street level, rising up eight stories high, are rows of brick apartment buildings which have a little graffiti, but it is tasteful and artistic; the buildings appear to be well-maintained and some have sweet balcs; there is a break in the rain, but the sky above is still heavy with rain clouds.

Having #lirr trains run entirely local once an hour on the port Washington line means they’re packed full even before bayside making them impossible to use. Brilliant. @thelirrtoday.com

Looks like the #LIRR did a pretty good job clearing out platforms this time around, much better than what was seen during the last big storm time. Trains are running on a weekend schedule, with some branches suspended, so they’re much busier than normal.

I made the 943 gct train at Jamaica which the #lirr typically consistently refuses to have line up with my incoming train. Making this train shaves 30 mins from my trip.
I am sure this miracle will not occur again.

Management under Hochul would rather pretend to 'be clarifying' wrongheaded, unpopular practices, in an attempt to exhaust, outlast, and assuage their customers, instead of fixing their broken policy.

We took the #LIRR into NYC to attend a wonderful event at the #PierreHotel to celebrate #IndianRepublicDay with the Indian Consulate and many others. So many beautiful outfits, delicious food, dancing, music, and friendly people.

The oyster bay branch of the #lirr is the absolute worst. So susceptible to weather and “equipment issues”

So the #LIRR added a new penny press machine at the GCM waiting room, it costs one penny to use.

I was on an #LIRR train due into Penn Station at 8:44 but it somehow pulled in at 8:38? Never have I ever.

I was finally able to catch the holiday LIRR train that’s going around Long Island. 4 houses away from mine btw. #LIRR

Eventually, ownership of the remaining yards passed to the MTA, who reorganized them in 1986 for Long Island Railroad trains. Keeping future development in mind, the new #LIRR layout reserved space between the tracks to allow construction of columns to support a platform above.
