"We love each other like no two people ever have before". #LaBeteHumaine (1938, Jean Renoir) is a remarkable film. I've seen Fritz Lang's version of the same story (Human Desire, 1954), but this is far superior. Beautifully shot and Jean Gabin's performance (and overall character arc) is excellent.
