“ENOUGH!” DJar shouted in fae and he stood up straight, clapping his hands once. His voice and the crack of air from his hands brought everyone’s eyes to him. Then it was there. It took a moment for the eyes of the people in the room to realize they were seeing it, and they gasped and pulled back en masse as the figure that had suddenly appeared registered in their brains. It occupied the space between Palo and DJar. The large steel blade it carried was less than an inch from Palo’s eye. Its metal tip glinted in the sunlight as did the serrated fins along its top edge. Six inches on, the blade was attached to a long staff being held steady at shoulder height by the dark figure. “Back off,” the figure purred in perfect fae, its voice higher pitched than DJar’s. “Shi shi shi shi shi,” DJar shushed. Myrth straightened, taking a deep breath. Palo took a step back so he could see the newcomer better. The goblins drew closer to the Master as Clippen and Nepo held up their hands, empty. No less tense, the room’s attention spun to the figure that had suddenly appeared. The newcomer wore the same uniform as DJar, black linen on black skin. Scintillating scales covered its bare shoulders and upper arms. Where DJar’s hair had been shaved, this one had long matted white dreadlocks, each one tied with a colorful ribbon at the end. Its eyes blazed bright with daemon-fire as it took stock of the room.
