We demonstrated that genome size is related to cell size specially on the smallest cells of #moss #gametophytes . Our results also suggest that this relatinship is maintained across #landplants but it depends more on cell function than on cell type origin.

#Phylosymbiosis is a valuable framework for investigating #Plant–microbe associations and their #EvolutionaryEcology. This review of Li-Qun Lin et al. discussed the #Prevalence and underlying #Mechanisms of phylosymbiosis in #LandPlants.

If I can cheekily be a little critical, there were moments where there was a bit too much of a love-in for the #microbial, and an over-egging of their scale in the #biosphere. Remember: most biomass (~70%) is in the form of #eukaryote #LandPlants.
