I try not to judge books by their covers, but I can certainly shame them, right? Or at least the designer?

If you haven't read it yet, you better get it before the current administration disappears it.

"There are bad days and then there are days when you've been bitch-slapped with an iron."
Favorite line so far, although the eating triacuits gag was A+

Well, Chuck Wendig once again wastes no time in getting started with the creepy stuff. Page 82 and loving it!

Probably the best opening for a book so far EVER in the entirety of history???

"She didn't think things could get any worse, then she saw the sign. 'Welcome to Florida,' it read."

Cute palate cleansing type of book. Decent fantasy world (I want more!) not too romancy, about healing relationships but not to heavy, LGBTQ+ friendly.
4/5 stars. #LaurelReadsStuff

This was great fun! Umm, maybe I won't get too close to any trees for a while, just in case...

Late to the party as usual, but go read this. There is literally no reason this should be banned or challenged. This was fascinating, horrifying, and even (very rarely) funny. Not only about the Holocaust, but it also the difficult father/son relationship. Amazing. #LaurelReadsStuff #RebelBookClub

Stay tuned for FEELINGS ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’”
The House in the Cerulean Sea (the prequel) was just about the most beautiful thing I've ever read.

On page 134/292 and I keep waiting for something to happen. The daughter turns up dead on page one (not a spoiler; it's in the description), but it reads like a soap opera. Family angst, interracial marriage in the 70s, some good stuff, but so far falls in the Meh category. #LaurelReadsStuff
