Law professor friends, any suggestions for favorite papers on juvenile justice, public defense, or prosecutors? I'm looking for thought-provoking ideas that will generate good discussion in my seminar. Self-nominations welcome! #lawprof

#Lawprof hivemind!

I'm looking to read some truly superb law review articles as inspiration. I'm seeking examples of pieces you finished reading (or writing!) and thought, "Wow. Smart, insightful, beautifully written."

Any recommendations? Area-agnostic!

If we saw “risk” as rooted in social/environmental conditions rather than the criminal tendencies of an individual, would we still support incarceration as the answer? /fin

What law school will have an #LLM #AI attend classes, and train (or fine tune?) on legal materials, but importantly, also train (i.e. Socratic Method) on the interactions as if in a real classroom. #LawProf

The Socratic Method is similar to how LLMs are trained/tuned in the 1st place, after all.

Just published! Our new article explores how State Bars often fail to discipline attorneys who undermine democracy—while disproportionately targeting civil rights lawyers and attorneys of color.

Dear #law #lawprof #lawsky et al.;

Can we retire the term “complex litigation,” please? It means nothing; a buzz term and a bad one at that. I’ve done the gamut in my career and some of the most complex cases were 2 party, low dollar dogfights (not BigCo1 v BigCo 3-8 just jockeying for settlements)

Hey #lawyer and #lawprof friends.

From an intellectual property perspective, what are the practical issues today with #vibecoding? (Generating code from generative #AI)

It feels like an awesome question on a 2L IP class, but I'm actually asking from the perspective of a builder. Who gonna sue me?

Question on slurs in #Academic writing: the casebook I co-author is adding a case about horrible harassment of an #LGBTQ senior in a retirement home. We could include the slurs and abuse but edited (e.g. “f—g f—t”) but worry it might be too painful for students. What do you all think? #LawProf
