Cloth Book about Historical Legal Deposit Music I made this cloth book after I’d finished the ‘Claimed from Stationers Hall’ research project. Something was missing, though: it lacked explanatory captions. This week, I revised …

Bit of stitched trivia here: cloth book loosely about historical #LegalDeposit music 🎶.
Second edition.

Cross stitch title on a handmade cloth book: 'Claimed from Stationers Hall'. New subtitle added: 'Extant legal deposit music in the UK.'
Slightly different shades of Aida fabric and embroidery thread. I have more captions to do for the pages inside - watch this space!

This is the stitched equivalent of an #ElevatorPitch about my former #ClaimedFromStationersHall research project. To amuse myself, I had made a cloth book, illustrating how much #LegalDeposit music survives in each old legal deposit library. I felt it needed explanatory captions. New subtitle first!

Just revisiting an earlier research project. I can't actually get very excited about cross-stitch, but cross-stitch lettering is quite relaxing. (Bet our Victorian forebears would disagree!)

News/Opinion: Tory Lanez Ordered to Pay Megan Thee Stallion’s Legal Fees After Disruptive Deposition Title: The Turning Point: Tory Lanezs Legal Deposit Deposition MoveIn an unexpected turn of events, former spouse and ex-fighter Tory Lanez has taken a bold yet understandable step in his life. He is no longer focused on the legal battles between himself and his wife, Megan Thee Stallion. Instead, Lanez has turned his attention to a bizarre and unconventional move: he has turned his deposition process into a circus by mocking his lawyer during a court-ordered session. Background and MotivationTory Lanezs recent actions are deeply personal. He, along with his ex-wife, has been dealing with professional relationships and financial pressures. The pressure on their personal lives has sometimes led to unnecessary decisions that feel disconnected from the emotional depth of their relationship. Lanez has chosen a way out of this chaos by taking a creative approach to his legal battle. The Legal DepositionMegan Thee Stallion is a star-crossed woman with personal issues, including custody battles and a toxic professional relationship with her lawyer. When Lanez approached the case, he was clearly unaware of Megans mental health struggles and legal issues that were far from resolved. He believed he could handle the situation without interfering with her well-being.Mocking Her LawyerThe move to convert Megans deposition into a circus involved mocking her lawyer during court proceedings. Lanez displayed a series of comical remarks, using his voice intently to mock his lawyers actions and demeanor. This playful approach allowed him to bypass some of the more serious legal aspects while still addressing Megans issues.Judgment from the CourtA judge quickly identified this unconventional approach as problematic. The court ruled that Lanez needed to cover her legal costs, a decision that would have significant implications for their personal lives. It marked a shift away from professional competition to focusing solely on his own financial obligations and emotional well-being.Implications and ReflectionsLanezs move wasnt just about money. It was also about the dynamics of his relationship with his wife. Turning his focus away from legal battles allowed him to spend more time with her, fostering deeper connections and personal growth. It demonstrated that a successful marriage doesnt necessarily mean ignoring professional challenges.ConclusionTory Lanezs move serves as a reminder that personal struggles can sometimes require a leap of faith rather than continued conflict. While this decision may have brought personal costs, it also opened doors for emotional connection and mutual support. It underscores the complexity of love and how professional and personal relationships intertwine in ways that are both challenging and transformative. As he reflects on his situation, Lanez understands that moving forward requires more self-reflection. His decision to take a creative approach has been an example of how breaking free from conventional paths can lead to meaningful connections. This experience highlights the importance of valuing personal growth while also considering the emotional needs of ones spouse.------#Entertainment

Most of the books on display in Cambridge’s University Library crime fiction exhibition were acquired through legal deposit – and stored in the tower because it was assumed they’d rarely be needed.
