Finally, when she couldn’t take it a second longer, she’d give herself to the lake. An inflated lobster claw was a nice pillow. She cracked Lester Bangs: in a bankrupt world, there was still cosmic-cool connection between deeply uncool people; flashbulb moments were prophecy, and rock and roll was a model for utopian society. The earth was a melting misery, religion was putrefaction, but there were glimmers of goodness. Bang bang.
