In Virginia, two anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation were enacted through 2026:
One in 2014 (authorizing the then-GOP Speaker to defend Virginia's SSM ban).
One in 2025 (commending an anti-LGBTQIA+ organization).
Fortunately, there's a way to fight back:
Vote YES on a pro-LGBTQIA+ amendment this November.
This is why, whenever I say #TransRightsAreHumanRights, it's not just a statement of affirming trans people, it's also centering them from an onslaught of attacks from billionaire-backed astroturfed groups aiming to harm kids to maintain their wealth.
Implementing bans would mean ALL girls and young women could be subject to harassment and invasive "gender investigations." Just #LetKidsPlay

Today, Congressional Equality Caucus Co-Chair Rep. Becca Balint (VT-AL), Democratic Women’s Caucus Chair Rep. Teresa Leger Fernández (NM-03), and Senator Mazie Hirono (HI) led 130 Members of Congress in filing an amicus brief at the Supreme Court in the cases of West Virginia v. B.P.J. and Little v. Hecox where the court will be considering whether categorical bans on transgender students participating in school sports consistent with their gender identity violate Title IX and the Equal Protection Clause. The brief, which argues that categorical bans on transgender students participating in school sports violate Title IX and the Equal Protection Clause, was joined by 9 Senators and 121 Representatives—more than twice as many signers than a brief led by Congressional Republicans in the case.
