★★★★½ Watched Apr 1, 2026 Horror365Challenge 97/365: V/H/S/Halloween Okay, I have a new favorite of this franchise and this is it! This is like a return to form in the best way! In my opinion, you have no bad segments here. There are even a few parts that are truly scary and the darkest, most disturbing shorts ever put in. The first two parts are fun and disturbing and disgusting: the perfect appetizer and first course to start with. The third one is a decent moral story and pallet cleanser; it's light and super fun, but probably the weakest of the anthology. That fourth part, Kidprint, hit me right in my childhood; I actually made one of those tapes back when Blockbuster used to make them. The darkest and MOST fucked up story in all of V/H/S, period! The final segment was one hell of a main course and will stick with me for a long time to come! Even the wraparound story was great and had a very cool Halloween 3 vibe. Overall, I think this one even beats out V/H/S 1. I hope they make even more of these and keep that same energy and momentum they've found.

Spent half of March braving the storms of O'ahu, which leant plenty of time to watch 30 movies. Among them, these rose above the others as favorites. A most special occasion, was the big screen restoration of "It", starring Clara Bow.
