Developers do nothing to improve surrounding public spaces. Just look at #lewishamgateway. A bus stop with no shelter or seating because of narrow pavement, blocked off routes to station because tower blocks have been evacuated - poor quality build.
No shit sherlock. Every block of flats near us in #Lewishamgateway gets a planter or two. The plants don't have a contractor to look after them, they die within - months and it fills with weeds and litter. @lewishamcouncil.bsky.social are shouting about their #greenplanning. Utter tosh.
On the subject of pedestrian permeability, the #LewishamGateway phase 2 development site will not have its north-south link open until completion in 2021, but an west-east walking link from DLR to St. Stephen's church will open by end of 2018. #LewishamCentral
Someone asks about the central #LewishamGateway Rennell Street crossing and how unfriendly to pedestrians it is. In the longer term phase 2 will provide a more direct route from the crossing to the station; in the meantime they'll ask TfL to review timings. #LewishamCentral
I asked about Confluence Place, the long-promised park in #LewishamGateway phase 1, which still isn't complete (or really started!). This is being used as the phase 1 development compound but will be delivered by the end of 2018. #LewishamCentral
