Ok, so...originally, plans were to do #LilyCAT next week as a bridge between #BattleAthletesVictory and what we ARE gonna show next week as it was still in space, but ultra violent, as a way to ease in to it...but I wanted to do it on Halloween, so...ramming speed.

It's a great anime, it's very appropriate to watch on Halloween, beautifully animated and uses the OVA budget wisely...but don't expect a reinvention of the wheel. This is Alien: The Anime with a dash of John Carpenter's The Thing. Not bad, but deja vu. #LilyCAT

But if somebody who's only knowledge of the original Alien is off of reviews, pop culture, and osmosis can tell what it took FROM Alien just as much as it can from The Thing (The bacteria, the flamethrowers, etc), I think I have the same opinion as someone who saw Alien. #LilyCAT

And I can safely say...not really...

Don't get me wrong, it's great. It's drenched in atmosphere, matches the haunted house feeling of Alien, and actually mixes the imposter and Thing elements very well even though they made those separate (No shape shifting monster). #LilyCAT

All I know from Alien comes from the pop culture osmosis and homages that have come out since. "Priority one," chest busters, etc. So, I thought going into this, I'd have more of an advantage, a different approach and might like it differently. #LilyCAT

So, confession time...I've never seen Alien or Aliens. Yes, my bad luck with movies were catching the sequels (Romulus being the only good one), the crossovers with Predator (The first one being the only good one), and Isolation (Awesome game)... #LilyCAT

The ship blows up, with the captain, and the monster...screams in all the dying voices of it's victims so loud, it breaks the rules of science and you can actually HEAR IT IN SPACE!

Damn... #LilyCAT

The captain let's Jiro and the company's boss's daughter out as he's gonna go back to stop the ship from going back to Earth. Yes, because it's alien, the corporation doesn't care about the dangers, just give 'em that money making data! #LilyCAT

It turns out they're still over that new planet they were gonna explore for future settlement and there IS a way down there...the captain's lucky charm, his old ship from his first mission! (Reads name) S.S...Pinto...

"I hate here! And she stole my boyfriend, and I wanna get back at her! I'd show her, I'd come back to Earth as young as I left and she'd be an old bag---" Ah, the tried and true reason for space exploring...SPITE! #LilyCAT

Well, because the ship is now under the control of Ash...I mean Ash...I mean Ash...I mean Lily C.A.T., it starts to remove the infected parts of itself like crazy...not bothering with the whole PESKY humans inside.

So, Jiro comes up with the solution: MURDER SUICIDE! #LilyCAT

So, it turns out the company was testing the android cat to run the ship because, well, we meatbags kinda suck at this whole "Long distance" thing. So, it starts to calculate how to deal with the four...

*POP*

...THREE crew members left. #LilyCAT

And out comes the Thing...but kudos to the anime, we actually see it digest the people it's taken, making things a bit more disturbing than even the Carpenter movie. #LilyCAT

The captain breaks into the control room where we find what looks like Lily...except no! It's an android that took control of the ship after it found the unknown vi---

Alien, Alien, Alien, OH so much Alien... #LilyCAT

So, Hiro, the first imposter, is a criminal because the three people he killed? Turned his sister into a druggie and it lead to her death.

The cop? Was on their trail and was about to be promoted...until Hiro killed 'em. #LilyCAT

So, yeah, a huge chunk of the ship? Got the bacteria...and it treats metal the way it's treating flesh... #LilyCAT

Say, what was the other thing this was based on again?

(Sees the dead cat coming out from the middle of a splitting dead woman)

OH YEAH, THE THING! #LilyCAT

Yeah, when you sign up to do deep space, you lose a lot of time...and I mean a LOT of time. Your baby you leave after seeing taking their first steps? Getting their sheepskin at Harvard! Friends and family? Dead. The latest system? "That's like a baby's toy!" #LilyCAT

Well, we get through a conversation that reveals the true horror of something like Alien. No, not the cyberpunkian like rule of corporations in space. No, not the monster itself.

The crew of the ship are ages between 125 and 223. #LilyCAT

So, turns out the two imposters are a crook and a cop. The crook killed three dudes and the cop is after the guy and the two wound themselves around until they both confessed to each other.

"I'm still alive..." Oh yeah, the virus thing! #LilyCAT

So, one of 'em remembered that the doc said the virus is similar to Legionaries disease and...sure enough, the case he remembered says the virus in a similar case years ago came from the AC units. #LilyCAT

So, going back to the alien thing? Yeah, it looks like the ship itself jacked control and is trying to do it's best to clean up...and the program that's doing this is named MOTHER.

SOUND...FAMILIAR!? #LilyCAT

Well, one of the women goes to give herself a medical scan and because she unbuttoned her top...

*YOINK*

...it's close enough to naked as the THING (Ha, ha, ha) takes her and SOMETHING in the meantime is controlling the ship! #LilyCAT

Well, with the cat a goner and part of the ship rusted due to the bacteria, it's time to do the sensible thing...lock off the section, launch it out into space, and blow it up REEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD. #LilyCAT

It looks like somebody raptured the dead bodies as only their clothes are left behind...AND MORE ALARMS go off as...

*CRACK*SMASH*CRUNCH*MUNCH*GULP*

...we found Lily... #LilyCAT

"If she were alive, she'd be around your age now..."
"Huh?" I'M NOT THE IMPOSTER...I mean...nothing... #LilyCAT

During this game of Guess Who, the captain finds out two of his crew haven't reported in yet...ANNNNNNNNNNNND THEY'RE DEAD!
