My daughter Moa and I will attend #LinCon again this year hanging out in the #gamedesigner room and helping out with the #SAGA Swedish Annual Game Design Awards. I'll bring the latest Bones & Banners prototype, hopefully in a nice printing.

A map of Gondwana is centrally placed on the table. Each player has a playerboard where we build our engine to best develop our dinosaur species.
I played Gustaf’s #Gondwana at #LinCon. Gondwana is a mutating dinosaur engine builder. Gustaf (designer of Ceres) is great at making big games with depth!

Three people and the Designer, Rikke, playing The Sock Monster. A game about the sock monster that eats our socks in the washing machine and its deadly enemy the washing machine agent.
I also played The Sock Monster at #LinCon. A game about the sock monster that eats our socks in the washing machine and its deadly enemy the washing machine agent. I’m particularly fond of the rotating see-through board that makes the socks tumble. Clever stuff!

A sweet child and a caring adult passed by. Magnus quickly introduced them to the Plank, a lovely push-your-luck game.
I played The Plank, a design that is fresh from the printers (designed by @magnusuptime.bsky.social). #ThePlank is a family game with dice and a great fun push-your-luck mechanism. I’ve loved this game from the start and I hope it will reach the broad audience it deserves.

Time Cards is played over multiple tricks. Four men are smiling around the table.
Time Cards is a trick taking game with time travelling as the twist. At occasions we will go back in time to replay some tricks. This is clever and fun by @magnusuptime.bsky.social!

We are playing Glorious Generations around a table. The designers are standing behind the table being, rightfully, proud.
I played a game at #LinCon called Glorious Generations. It has a fantastic core idea: we are playing 4 generations. And whatever the past generations do, they affect the generations after. This game was a part of the SAGA competition.
So much fun! Great idea!

Three board gamers playing My Kingdom.
I played the most condensed civ builder I’ve ever played at #LinCon: My Kingdom. It is designed by @magnusuptime.bsky.social and it makes me feel like every choice matters. In addition he puts deck building on its head by clever use of some wore mechanisms. Publish this!

A friend visited Lincon #lincon. Which is swedens most likely best convention for role-, board- and miniaturegames. A nice read.

A fluffy haired person is just about to flick a red ship on a black mat in FlickFleet.
Played #FlickFleet at #LinCon. FlickFleet is a lovely laughter-filled dexterity game with some light strategic elements.
My son and I played two games in a row. Highly recommend it!

Two persons playing Penta Low. They have two stacks of cubes in front of them.
Penta Low, my 3D puzzle where you are set to build the LOWEST tower, was played 4 times during #LinCon. We tested a number of different limitations and the best experience this time was to build within a 4x3 grid. It works.

Two players playing Einstein’s Garden.
Two players playing Einstein’s Garden.
Four players playing Einstein’s Garden.
Three players playing Einstein’s Garden.
Einstein’s Garden was played extensively at #LinCon this year. After an intense debate about the game’s turn structure, a new version was found. The turn structure was replaced by a continuous mode. Real time puzzling without the sense of stress. I think this game will get signed later this year. 🎲✂️
Three persons are playing Craters. They stare at the board trying to decide what to do.
Four men discuss the new green buildings of Craters. We had a great time figuring out what to keep and where to place the new abilities.
I played 5 games of #Craters this weekend at #LinCon, a Swedish con.
The game feels quite stable at the moment. This weekend I added static abilities to the game which stored up some turmoil in the design. They seem to fit in well, but the question I need to answer is where to gain them!

I had a great time at the LinCon game convention over the weekend. In this post I share some reflections.

A card duelling game is being played. Cards are played face down with dice on them targeting either loyal or rival villages or other army unit cards on the table.
#LinCon was a blast. Played a lot of games and got a bunch of tests of Bones & Banners. Looking at all the photos I wish the game had better table presence so I'm looking into designing prettier village cards and army unit card backs.

#Goodmorning from a the outskirts of Linköping. Today: third day at #LinCon, then home by bus, train and bicycle. What are you up to?
A two player card duel being played. A tableu of cards at one end of the table. A battle field of cards i the middle of the table. A rulebook with a rules summary on the back cover.
Bones & Banners got a bunch of playtests at #LinCon so far. Getting useful feedback on where the game can be improved to meet expectations faster.
