Danae is seen kneeling in the sand and muck of Siletz Bay at low tide, pulling handfuls from a hole approximately one foot in diameter. Barbara is standing nearby looking down. Purple varnish clams are seen in a colander with one small soft shell clam and a nearly spherical rock. The exterior of the purple varnish clams have stratified shades of black, gray, brown and yellow with white areas that have been stripped of the outer periostracum layer. The soft shell clam is cream colored with a black foot poking out the side.
Cloves of garlic are seen in a ceramic bowl, a large spoon is stirring butter and herbs in a sauté pan on a cooktop. A yellow stock pot and sauté pan lid are seen on the countertop in the background.

Facing north from the mouth of the Siletz River, the camera rests on top of a large log at the crest of the beach. Spanish Head hotel is seen in the distance, with several stories of rooms overlooking the ocean. Various sized houses line the ridge with conifers between. The seas are angry with white caps as far as the eye can see.
Facing south from a ridge high above the north shore overlooking the mouth of the Siletz River, two small fishing boats are headed west toward the sea. The sky us filled with gray clouds the seas are dark greenish gray. The Salishan spit is seen on the south side of the river and the bay is seen near the top right. Large conifers fill the right quarter of the image and the bottom third of the image.
