Liniker wins 3 Latin Grammys—becomes most-winning trans woman in Grammy history Black trans singer-songwriter Liniker, from Araraquara, Brazil, made LGBTQ+ history at the 26th Latin Grammy Awards ceremony held in Las Vegas, Nevada this week. Liniker has now won four Latin Grammy Awards — the first in 2022, when she became the first-ever out trans woman to win a Latin Grammy, along with three more trophies in 2025. Even when considering the U.S.-centric Grammy Awards, no other out trans woman has won more trophies than Liniker as of this writing. She is right behind nonbinary artist Sam Smith, who's won a total of five Grammys over the course of their career. These three new Latin Grammy Awards all came from Liniker's sophomore album, _Caju_ , released in 2024, and coproduced by Liniker, Fejuca, and Gustavo Ruiz. So, without further ado, let's break down how Liniker's special night at the 2025 Latin Grammy Awards went. ## Liniker wins Best Portuguese Language Song (1/3). In her emotional acceptance speech, Liniker spoke Portuguese (her native language as a Brazilian artist), English, and Spanish.
