You'd think! That's Ashe's goal in #LionGirl, to befriend Anni and be someone they can rely on, and Anni wants to be seen as someone Ashe can lean on as well
But y'know, I like reading, writing, and watching disasters
Let's just say they *do* communicate and it doesn't go well :v
arsoniscoolsometimes Aug 6, 2025 it’s so funny when you watch a show or play a game where you know the fandom is super hype about a ship and you’re like “there’s no way they are actually like that™” but then you consume that media and are like “holy shit how did the fandom undersell how fucking gay these losers are”
If I ever garner a fandom, I want this to be every reader's reaction
Also, excellent username candidate for Ashe :p
#LionGirl
Platonic love so strong you would burn down the Library of Alexandria for them <3
(Not that they actually want that XP)

#AwesomeCharacters!
Here's a curveball for #LionGirl:
Ashe is the Killer, Nana is the Detective, Anni is the Red Herring, Nalu is the Corpse/Leaves behind the critical clue a la Danganronpa, they are all victims :v
#FebruaryWorldbuilders!
Not really the government, but most of the big movers in history have been the Grand Librarians, and boy, is that history problematic for Anni and Ashe XD
In setting up the Library's systems and traditions, the GLs have unintentionally set up the main conflict of #LionGirl
#Febchantment!
I know I talked about it before, but I really love the idea of Naming in #LionGirl
One, because I think the idea of a person getting to choose their own name and that self-growth giving a power boost is super cool
And two, because I think heroes announcing who they are is badass :p
#FebruaryWorldbuilders!
The Library appears incredibly stable. While there have been seismic shifts in its structure, it's persisted in some form for around 2 millennia by #LionGirl
That being said, it still struggles with internal agitators like the Caretakers and that could erupt into chaos

Gijinka Nala posing and hypnotizing you
Decided to draw a gijinka Nala from the Lion King. The stars in the background spelt out "SFX" by the way.

Even worse is Anni has literally never taken a formal class before #LionGirl and for Fos, her people treat information and stories as living things. Details and events are *supposed* to change, be added or deleted!
Nana and Nalu are probably the most well informed out of the student characters

#Febchantment!
Standard Invocation and Affinity Development are part of the Library's standard curriculum, so everyone in #LionGirl have the basics of spell casting down, but most of them *are* still students so them getting familiar with themselves and their magic is a big part of the story!

#Febchantment!
Everyone in #LionGirl can use magic, except for [SPOILERS], but it's a mixed bag on how they view their abilities
Nana despite her incredible potential feels like it's a barrier between her and "normal" mages, while for Nalu it represents the burden his family's expectations

Both everything and not all that much. I think the most interesting thing in #LionGirl are the choices Anni and Ashe make to protect each other/themselves but all of that is motivated by the state of magic
And unraveling how that state came to be is the main mystery of the series :)
#FebruaryWorldbuilders!
Hey! I actually cover this topic in #LionGirl!
The basics are that every trial is done with a jury of peers and a panel of judges. The accused have the right to know who accused them, though the accuser doesn't necessarily need to appear in court

Yes :)
(But not for #LionGirl :( )
XD
I have been getting a suspicious amount of Owl House in my FYPs
I've also been getting a lot of memes of people moving on immediately from SPOP to the Owl House :p
(But I should probably work on #LionGirl. Focus on *my* disaster kiddos for once)
An incredibly popular character for fairy tales and bedtime stories, but nobody's 100% certain on anything. According to records from Sirius's time, the world must have been *very* different then
It's also something that gets unraveled over #LionGirl 's series, so there's that to look forward to ;)
#FebruaryWorldbuilders!
TBH I think most of the wildlife in the Library is very similar to IRL, but maybe that's because I think real life is already very cool and mystic and somewhat beyond my ken XD
In an early draft of #LionGirl they have to do a lab studying Bitterbloom, which is an edible

#JanuaryWorldbuilders!
This is a recent development, but I've been looking into Biosphere 2! Let's just say the whole endeavor might dovetail with some of the themes in #LionGirl ;)

I took a break for war week, but this year, I'm hoping to get my first draft of #LionGirl finished as well as a round or two of edits!
Also, Diary of Nana is going to lay some of the groundwork if people want teasers ;)
Yay!╰(*´︶`*)╯♡
I hope you enjoy #LionGirl when I finish! I hope to finish the draft and get preliminary edits done this year :)
Maybe I'll release a lore bible as a stretch goal XD
Tear into Library mages the same way it absolutely shreds Curses. At the beginning of #LionGirl, Anni mainly uses it to enhance their body to Guardian tier durability, speed, and strength, alongside a set of golden claws, since they're trying to imitate Gama ;~;

#JanuaryWorldbuilders!
Y'know, now that I think about it, there really aren't that many long range options in #LionGirl :p
Both Curses and Affinities work best in close to medium range combat
Only the people of the Outer Reaches really have access to longer range tools

#AwesomeCharacters!
This one's interesting because pretty much every protagonist in #LionGirl is another's antagonist XD
But I would say they're all similar, at least in the circumstances that raised them. They just have wildly different reactions to those circumstances!
(Poor Ashe and Anni...)
I am not at the liberty to discuss that ;)
But I *have* mentioned what it is in earlier posts. That part at least was always going to be central to what happens in #LionGirl
#JanuaryWorldbuilders!
They weren't in my initial plans, but both #DiaryOfNana and #LionGirl have started heavily featuring artifacts belonging to previous Grand Librarian's
Sirius's Staff, Vega's Needle, Gale's Astrolabe...
Funnily enough, Abelha's Knife becomes a major element despite...

Moving over to West, the initial setting of #DiaryOfNana and #LionGirl, mages tend towards a smoked cuisine and their most famous dish is smoked salmon
Even though they're pretty far in-land, the rivers bring in swarms of salmon every year, presumably from the Outer Reaches?

Also, please share my #BluePit post on #LionGirl, the novel sequel* to #DiaryOfNana!

Ok let's go pencil sketch lion girl drawing! Doing more body studies this week. #furryart #furryartwork #furry #furryartist #drawing #sketch #art #catgirl #liongirl
I know the MC of #LionGirl is explicitly a Curse, but Anni is a major exception having acquired a Guardian's magic
By in large, everyone except the Caretakers views the Caretakers as Anti-vaxxers :p
