Since Valentine's Day is looming around the corner, I’ll admit I read romance now and then. 📖💗

But one trope I’m growing a little weary of is enemies to lovers. Are there any literary tropes you’re ready to see less of for a while? 🤔

TEXT: #KnowYourTrope - The Paladin
A valiant champion devoted to all that is Good and Right. Some call them idealists, others say naive - either way, they uphold their moral code no matter the personal cost.

Wonder Woman (DC)
Author's Note: Like many fantasy staples, D&D codified our conception of a ‘paladin archetype’ in modern fiction, but the word itself can be traced back as early as the 16th century.

3 Book Tropes I’ll Never Get Tired Of:

1. Found family—when characters become the family they never had.

2. The reluctant hero who just wants a quiet life but fate has other plans.

3. A well-done unreliable narrator.

What’s a trope you always love to see in books? #BookLovers #LiteraryTropes

Writing a trope heavy story is going to be challenging. There is no but. I'm about to get my ass kicked trying to give birth to this story. 😅

When the Bodhisattva Megha sees the miracle that occurs after the flower-offering, he rejoices all the more, and heunplaits his golden matted hair, which has not been undone for 12 years, and, spreading it on the ground, he makes a vow to attain the highest Enlightenment. The Buddha Dipamkara puts his feet on the hair and gives him the Prophecy. Megha has practiced asceticism for 12 years with a pure mind, and because of his earnest exertions, he has obtained golden hair. Then he says, "I only wish that the Bhagavan will show sympathy with me; will strengthen me; and will give me a Prophecy that I will attain the highest Enlightenment."

Some fun trivia that intersects Buddhist Studies with pop-culture...

The "Super Saiyan" trope from the anime DBZ of an advanced cultivator's black hair turning gold is actually an ancient Indian trope and appears in the episode of Megha and Dipamkara Buddha.
