When a leader speaks as if protection, victory, and greatness flow from him, that is the spirit of boasting—not the Spirit of Christ. The Gospel does not train us to clap for ego; it trains us to tremble before God, give thanks, and walk humbly. If our hearts get excited by swagger more than by repentance, we’re being discipled by power, not by Jesus. Let the church reject celebrity politics and refuse the temptation to worship strength. Our security is not in domes, armies, or “our technology.” Our hope is in the Lord who humbles the proud and exalts the lowly. Pray for leaders—but do not idolize them. Follow Christ, not a throne.
